First and foremost, my passion is growing things.
I love watching a seed turn into a plant. As a plant nerd and a strong advocate of sustainable agriculture and permaculture design, this company is how I can contribute to loving our planet, our homes, and our bodies. Growing food is so much more than feeding your belly, it’s a way of life.
My journey of plant-loving and nurturing began in 2015. The first experience with gardening and farming was in the cannabis industry; I spent the 2015 fall season learning to harvest, maintain, and process outdoor organically grown cannabis. It was an interesting experience that intrigued me about growing plants and working in a garden. The following year, I spent 10 months as a Permaculture Garden and Farm Intern at the Jackson Wellsprings in Ashland, Oregon. From taking permaculture design classes to the in-depth hands-on experience learning organic gardening and farming, we learned it all, even how to process produce for our onsite cafe and event center that held various festivals throughout the year. I learned everything from permaculture design to sustainable farming practices and loved every second of it. Upon returning to the San Francisco Bay Area, I returned to the coffee industry while getting on my feet and soon found a position with the California-based urban farming company, Farmscape, as a maintenance farmer. My job entailed caring for various large and small scale urban gardens throughout the Bay Area, helping manage and maintaining up to 17 organic gardens during my time with the company.
I learned the ins and out of urban farming in many local microclimates, managing different issues based on location, how to grow and maintain a perennial butterfly garden, as well as became proficient in irrigation maintenance, season switching, and teaching workshops on basic gardening techniques. Learning so much from my different experiences of permaculture style farming and urban gardening and design, I believe that growing plants is one of the most magical and happiness-inducing things you can do. My mission is to help others develop the skills and passion for sustainable, organic gardening so everyone can spend less time in a grocery store and more time in the dirt.

Why Earth Witch?
To me, being an Earth Witch is being a woman that lives a life in tune with the earth, and honors the planet on which we live. Being an Earth Witch became my calling to walk the path of my deep passion for tending to the earth and honors my dedication to a sustainable vision of how to care for it. To know gardening is to know magic. I chose to name my woman operated business Earth Witch Gardening to honor my vision of how I wanted to support the earth, as well as to share my valued practices of how I tend to the land I live on.
